「シャミは彼のリズムを拾う」:アンバティ・レイードゥはモハメッド・シャミをサポートし続けている

モハメッド・シャミは14か月後に国際クリケットに戻った

Mohammed Shami returned to international cricket after more than a year. But it wasn’t the return that he expected. The ace pacer failed to scalp any wickets as India lost the match at Rajkot by 26 runs. However, former India Cricket Team star Ambati Rayudu has kept his faith in Shami claiming he would find his rhythm in time.

Mohammed Shami returned to action after 14 months. He was tipped to play the opening match of the series but wasn’t rushed as he was not 100% fit. Shami bowled 3 overs and gave away 25 runs with an economy of 8.30 and without a wicket. His main focus is the ICC Champions Trophy and Rayudu is certain that Shami will be ready by then.

Shami to come good in a couple of games

Ambati Rayudu clarified that Shami is a player who gains confidence with his rhythm. As soon as he picks up his rhythm with a good warmup and run-up he will start firing. He also added that it takes time for any player to come good after such a long injury hiatus.

“I think his rhythm builds when he runs well during his run-up and comes to the crease at good speed. Today, I couldn’t see that much. Having confidence about your body is extremely crucial for a player after injury. Players who’ve gone through injury will tell you that it takes time after returning. The body remains in good shape but the confidence in one’s body to put in the extra efforts comes with time. Hence, I feel Shami will pick up his rhythm after a couple of games,” said Rayudu on Star Sports.

Former Indian spinner Piyush Chawla too agreed with Rayudu’s statements. He also said that Shami made a comeback after 436 days. Chawla further added Shami didn’t look in his rhythm and every player takes 1-2 matches to get back into the rhythm.

“When you make a comeback to international cricket after so long, you have butterflies in your stomach. No matter, how much you’ve played in the past when you come back to the team after a long gap of 436 days, there were some nerves there. He didn’t look in his usual rhythm, every player takes 1-2 matches. The good thing is that he played a game and bowled three overs and the way he ended his spell. I feel the more he plays, the better he will get,” said Chawla.
