「ヴィラット・コーリは出禁にすべきだった」:スティーブ・ハーミソン、サム・コンスタスとの口論後に残忍な処罰を要求

インドはボーダー・ガバスカール・トロフィーでオーストラリアに3-1で敗れた

Former England Cricket Team captain Steve Harmison is not at all happy with the Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas altercation. The incident took place after Kohli shoulder barged into the young Aussie opener on Day 1 of the Boxing Test in Melbourne of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Owing to the altercation, Virat Kohli was slapped with a 20% match fee fine. The incident took place in the 100th over of the game, when Virat Kohli crossed the pitch and shoved the 19-year-old on the shoulder. Following the incident both the players exchanged a war of words. In the meantime, Usman Khawaja, the umpires, and the other Indian players interfered to pull out the two players.

Should Virat Kohli be banned?

Steve Harmison however is of the opinion that Kohli was way out of line. He even claimed that the ace Indian batter should have been banned for what he did. He claimed that he loves the Indian batter but claimed that in the game there is a line that doesn’t need to be crossed.

“What happened with Kohli there – Kohli was bang out of order. Virat Kohli should have been banned for what he did. You know how much I love Virat Kohli and what he has done for the game, but there’s a line, and you do not cross it,” Harmison told the talkSPORT.

Harmison sends advice to Sam Konstas

On the other hand, the former English pacer praised Sam Konstas. He claimed that the young opener needs to be more compact and have composure. He claimed that Konstas plans on being like David Warner. However, Harmison claimed that he is not as technically sound as Warner was. He claimed that if Konstas continues his over-aggressive approach then he will face the consequences.

“Sam has got the scoops, he’s got the big shots. But does he have the defensive technique for the Test match cricket against the world’s best? That’s something he needs to figure out. If he gets it right, he has a great chance because he can be aggressive and has a good mindset for attacking the ball. But I just think he wants to be David Warner, and technically, he’s nowhere as good as Warner. If he’s opening the batting against England, I’d be happy. I really would. But he’s only 19, and he’s going to improve. However, if he continues to be aggressive verbally, he’ll face consequences,” he concluded.
