Australia cricket team pacer Scott Boland is most likely to find himself out of the playing XI for IND vs AUS 3rd Test in Brisbane. Playing his first Test since June 2023, the bowler wreaked havoc on India in the Pink-Ball Test in Adelaide after being called in as a replacement for an injured Josh Hazlewood. But his return to the side might be short-lived, with Hazlewood expected to return to the side for the Brisbane Test.

Scott Boland to pave way for Hazlewood in IND vs AUS 3rd Test?

On Day 1 of IND vs AUS 2nd Test in Adelaide, Australia skipper Pat Cummins had dropped a hint on how Scott Boland will probably be a part of just one match. He had said that he hoped Josh Hazlewood would be fit in time for the Brisbane Test. Incidentally, Scott Boland is no stranger to waltzing in and out of the Australian team as and when required, more as an injury replacement rather than a specialist bowler.

“It feels I’ve got a lot of tools at my disposal, so I feel very lucky. Fairly confident he’ll (Hazlewood) be right for Brisbane. If someone needs to make way, they’ll be pretty unlucky,” Pat Cummins had said.

In Hazlewood’s absence, Scott Boland did a pretty good job in Adelaide, finishing with figures of 5/105 in two innings. However, it is expected that the former will return to Australia’s XI for IND vs AUS 3rd Test, rejoining forces with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. In just 11 Tests that Boland has played so far, he has managed to take 40 wickets, including a five-wicket haul that came on his memorable debut.

Will Josh Hazlewood be available for IND vs AUS 3rd Test

As per Channel Seven, Josh Hazlewood pointed out that there was enough gap between the 2nd and the 3rd Test for him to recover from the injury. He added that he had already ticked off a few boxes already and that the last task was to bowl a few spells on Day 4. He revealed that he had the niggle for a few years now while adding that it was just a minor strain.
