「唯一の選択肢」：ABデヴィリエは、2025年のIPLでヴィラット・コーリがRCBキャプテンになることを主張

IPL side Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are without a captain yet heading into IPL 2025. After former captain Faf du Plessis was not retained, the RCB side now has been left without a captain. Proteas and RCB legend AB de Villiers has however advocated that Virat Kohli remains the best viable captaincy option for the side.

AB went on to express that Virat Kohli’s leadership qualities are second to none. And the ace Indian batter would be the best person to lead the side in IPL 2025. He also believes that it would be perfect if the team could win their maiden IPL campaign under the captaincy of the superstar.

Kohli new captain of RCB in IPL 2025?

RCB decided not to retain their captain for the last 3 years, Faf du Plessis. Even so, the team didn’t go and bid for the Protean veteran in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. While RCB has specialist players in their mixes they don’t however have a player who can lead the side.

“Friends, I think Virat Kohli is the only option [for RCB’s captaincy choice). He is near the end of his career, more inspired than ever before. Till the time he gets the form, and score runs, we are used to watching him play match-winning innings. It’s like a swansong,” AB de Villiers said.

Virat Kohli has previously captained the side back from 2013 to 2021. He came close to lifting the IPL trophy back in 2016 when they went on to play the final, eventually losing to SRH. After the 2021 season, he left the captaincy to focus primarily on his batting. It was then that Faf was brought in and appointed as the new captain of the side.

Kohli is a born leader as has been seen during his India and RCB stints. And it only makes sense that the talismanic batter once again leads the charge for his side.
