Former India Cricketer Ambati Rayudu has claimed Tilak Varma is a huge superstar for the Indian Cricket Team. Rayudu spoke highly about Varma after the star player played a crucial innings in Chennai. Banking on his 72 run unbeaten knock, India now leads the series 2-0 and is a win away from securing the series.

The young southpaw continued to hammer at the Three Lions while he continuously lost partners on the other end. Eventually, towards the dying overs, Tilak Varma switched gears to ensure a 2 wicket win in Chennai. With 4 fours and 5 sixes, Tilak Varma was adjudged the Man of the Match award.

Tilak Varma – The all format player for India

And now Ambati Rayudu has claimed that Tilak Varma can become a all-format player for India. He claimed that Tilak should not be limited only to T20I format. He further added, the match winning ability should be enough to be backed by thew board and the team management.

“I feel India has got a huge superstar, and he can become an all-format player. It’s not that he is only a T20 player. Considering the maturity he showed today (India vs England 2nd T20I), he has the ability to be a match-winner for India for many years. So I feel he should be backed in every format,” Ambati Rayudu told Star Sports.

Rayudu further heaped praises for Tilak claiming he has the ability to adapt according to the different match conditions. Rayudu also praised SKY for backing Tilak in T20Is and now the result is evident.

“He is a superstar cricketer, and I have seen him grow in Hyderabad. He has played four extraordinary knocks. Since Suryakumar Yadav has become the captain, the confidence he has been given and the trust that has been shown in him, he is repaying it fully,” Rayudu concluded.
