DDCA書記のアショク・シャルマ氏は、グジャラート・タイタンズのネットセッションに参加するためにデリー・ランジ・トロフィーのトレーニングキャンプを欠席したアヌジ・ラワットを批判した。
Delhi wicketkeeper-batter Anuj Rawat might be in trouble for skipping a Ranji Trophy camp to attend Gujarat Titans (GT) net session. The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) is reportedly miffed with the star for not seeking permission before skipping the ongoing camp being held at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi. The youngster was a part of the GT camp along with Ishant Sharma, Jayant Yadav, Kumar Kushagra, Mahipal Lomror, and Arshad Khan.
Anuj Rawat in trouble for choosing IPL over Ranji
As per news agency PTI, DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma stated that he had no knowledge that Anuj skipped the Ranji Trophy camp to take part in GT’s net session. He noted that the keeper-batter should have ideally taken permission while pointing out that Delhi still had two Ranji games left to be played at the Arun Jaitley stadium. He further stated that the board had received no written request from Rawat and said that he shouldn’t have joined the IPL camp.
“I have no knowledge that Anuj has skipped the ongoing Ranji Trophy camp to attend the IPL team’s camp. Ideally, he needs to take permission from the state association. We have two Ranji games left and the camp is on at the Kotla. I don’t know who gave him the permission to skip the Ranji Trophy camp,” Sharma told PTI.

“We have received a few official e-mail requests from certain players asking for permission to join their respective IPL camps but I can confirm that we have received no written request from Anuj Rawat. In that case, he shouldn’t have joined the IPL camp,” a senior DDCA official, who looks after cricket operations, told PTI.
Rawat seems to have invited trouble for himself by priortizing the IPL camp over Delhi’s. It remains to be seen if he will suffer the same fate as that of Ishan Kishan – who lost his BCCI central contract after training with Mumbai Indians in 2024 despite being asked to take part in domestic red-ball cricket. The second leg of Ranji Trophy will commence on January 23, with Delhi set to take on Saurashtra. Rawat was picked up by GT for Rs 30 lakhs in IPL 2025 mega auction.
