アルジュン・エリガイシは、世界ラピッド選手権とブリッツ選手権の準備をしているため、米国大使館に対し、ビザスタンプが貼られたパスポートの返却を迅速に行うよう要請した。
Indian grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi asked the US Embassy in India to quickly return his passport with the visa stamp before the Chess World Rapid & Blitz Championship 2024. The world number four chess player posted on ‘X’ to send a message to the US Embassy, saying, “I gave you my passport last week for visa stamping, but I haven’t got it back yet. Please make the process faster and give back my passport soon because I need it to travel to New York for the World Rapid & Blitz Championship.” The World Rapid and Blitz Championship 2024 will be held in New York from December 26-31.
Eigaisi better than Gukesh in World Rankings
Arjun Erigaisi is ranked world number four in chess, with a classical rating of 2801. His rapid rating stands at 2694, while his blitz rating is 2749. Erigaisi has established himself as a rising star in the chess world, and his consistency across formats has earned him a spot among the elite. Notably, Erigaisi’s position in the rankings places him just ahead of India’s Gukesh Dommaraju, who recently won the World Chess Championship title after defeating Ding Liren in the finals. Gukesh currently holds the fifth spot with a classical rating of 2783.
Gukesh not going for Blitz and Rapid Championship
After winning the World Chess Championship, India’s 18-year-old D Gukesh has decided to not go for the Blitz and Rapid Championship. This means that we will directly see Gukesh in any tournament in 2025. He will directly see him in the 87th Tata Steel Chess Tournament, which will take place in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands, from January 17 to February 2, 2025.
