キャプテンとして置き換えられましたが、Rohit SharmaはMIPを支援することに熱心です
Rohit Sharma’s sole focus remains on adding another IPL trophy to Mumbai Indians’ and his cabinet and it doesn’t matter whether he is the captain or not. After leading the franchise for years, the Hitman was replaced by Hardik Pandya before IPL 2024. The move caused a furore among fans. And to make things worse, MI performed miserably in that season. However, Rohit – who is on a trophy-winning spree – is keen on adding one more IPL title to the team’s name.

“Player” Rohit eyes 6th IPL title for MI
In an interview with Mumbai Indians, Rohit opened up on how many things had changed in the team over the years but not his mindset. The former MI skipper said that stars he had played alongside previously were now coaches while also pointing out that he wasn’t captain anymore. However, Sharma maintained that his mindset was still as such that he wanted to do well for the team and win another IPL trophy.
“I used to bat in the middle-order, now I’m opening. I was captain then, I’m not captain now. There were few teammates who I played with & won championships, they are not there. The roles have changed but the mindset hasn’t. What I want to do for the team hasn’t changed which is to go out there, win games and trophies,” Rohit said.

Five-time champions MI were handed a 4-wicket defeat by arch-rivals CSK in their IPL 2025 opener. Rohit was dismissed for a four-ball duck. He did not take the field in the 2nd innings as he was replaced by impact substitute Vignesh Puthur, who went on to have a memorable debut. Hardik Pandya and co. will next lock horns with Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
