Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians launched their official jersey for the IPL 2025 season on Friday (Feb 21), which sent excitement among their passionate fanbase, affectionately known as the “Paltan.” The unveiling came with an emotional video message from the franchise and a heartfelt promise from captain Hardik Pandya to restore the team’s storied legacy after a forgettable 2024 campaign. All the five retained players, including Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav, were also present.

“Dear Paltan, we know our last season was one to forget. But now, a new season is upon us with a chance to make it right. 2025 is our opportunity to bring back the legacy where it belongs,” the franchise declared in a video shared across social media. “With the blue and gold on us, we will take the field to play like Mumbai. This is not just our jersey. This is a promise to you.”
Captain Hardik Pandya echoed this sentiment, addressing the fans directly: “Dear Paltan, 2025 is our opportunity to bring the legacy where it belongs. With the blue & gold on us, we will take the field to Play like Mumbai. This is not just our jersey. This is a promise to you. Chala bhetu, Wankhede la! (Let’s meet at Wankhede!)”
The team also introduced a new principal sponsor for the season. Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation, earlier known as L&T Switchgear, has replaced the previous sponsor, Slice. Lauritz Knudsen, a well-known name in India’s electrical and automation industry and part of the Schneider Electric group, will have its logo featured on the front of the Mumbai Indians’ official jersey and training gear.
