クリケット選手のエストレラがBCCIにBGTの後に「厳格な」SOPSを実装するように強制した方法

無名のクリケット選手は、オーストラリアの5つの異なる場所に、インドから150 kgの余分な荷物を取りました。

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had released a 10-point guidelines policy for the India cricket team last month. Most assumed that the back-to-back Test series defeats to New Zealand and Australia were the reason. Well, apparently not. The reason why BCCI chose to lay down the law isn’t about the performance but rather due to the exploitation of the previous rules.

Star cricketer took 250 kg of luggage for BGT

According to Dainik Jagran, a unnamed star Indian cricketer and his family took as many as 27 luggage bags to Australia, which weighed a whopping 250 kilograms. As far as the cricket goes, the 1/4-tonne weighted luggage comprised 17 bats.

The BCCI had to foot the bill worth lakhs. Remember, Team India first went to six destinations (Perth, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney) in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. That’s eight flights across the one-and-a-half-month-long tour.

BCCI puts strict rules in place

Well, that BCCI thought enough was enough. That unnamed star player is perhaps the reason why other cricketers have had restrictions put on them. The new BCCI guidelines have therefore put a 150 kg limit on the luggage, both personal and cricket, capacity for tours. Any additional expense would come from the player’s pocket himself.

“Baggage Restrictions—Players must comply with specified baggage limits, and any excess costs will be the individual’s responsibility,” BCCI had said in their mandate last month.

Who is this ‘unnamed’ cricket that forced BCCI to change rules?

Now we don’t know who the player in question is. What we do know is that it’s a batter. How? Because why would any bowler carry as many as 17 bats with them on a tour? And we often hear that bowlers borrow or are gifted bats by their batting teammates. Most don’t even have a bat sponsor either.

Additionally, the usage of ‘star’ would also suggest someone famous. A famous batter, one can deduce. Now, it’s for your imagination to run wild as to who the person in question is.
