Anilの椅子は虐待から引退し、IPLP 2025でコメントとして新しいキャリアを開始します。
Anil Choudhary will not be seen officiating on the field in IPL 2025 but will instead take on a new role in the commentary box. The Indian umpire is making the transition from umpiring to commentary, signaling his retirement from officiating duties.
It would be very interesting to hear Anil Choudhary’s voice, as he has only communicated through actions on the field until now.
Anil Chaudhary retires from umpiring
This marked his official retirement from umpiring. Chaudhary’s final match as an umpire was the Ranji Trophy final between Kerala and Vidarbha last month in Nagpur, while his last international outing took place in September 2023.
Throughout his career, he has officiated in a total of 12 Test matches. He has also umpired in 49 ODIs, and 64 T20Is.
In the upcoming IPL, starting on March 22, he will be a part of the Haryanvi commentary team, with occasional appearances in the Hindi broadcast as well.
“I have been commentating for the past three-four months. So, I was already in the transition phase. I have also been teaching umpiring and commentary via an online platform,” he said as quoted by PTI.
An umpire providing their perspective will be an interesting take, and Anil Choudhary will share his insights on the game.
“As an umpire, I did around 15 games in a season, here I would be doing more than 50 (matches). On air, former cricketers look at the game in their own way and being an umpire I have a different perspective on the game. It is fun,” he said.
“I was an international umpire for more than 12 years. Have been doing IPL since 2008 and have done more than 200 games. Kuch na kuch toh reh hee jata hain life mein,” said Chaudhary, who feels proud about officiating in five Ranji finals and the Asia Cup final in 2022.
