ジャスプリット・バムラはボーダー・ガバスカー杯の最終テスト(シドニー)で腰を負傷していた。
At last, a positive update regarding Jasprit Bumrah’s injury. With the ICC Champions Trophy approaching fast, the whole of India has concerns regarding the spearhead’s fitness. The unorthodox pacer is recovering from his back injury and is expected to be ready for the 8-team tournament, which starts on February 19.
Injury under control, Jasprit Bumrah to reach NCA soon
The back injury he suffered at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) seemed severe. However, it turns out the swelling in his back muscle meant that at the time it couldn’t be properly diagnosed. When the swelling decreases, a fresh scan will be taken, and only then will the National Cricket Academy (NCA) assess his health and create a recovery regime.
Currently in India, Bumrah is expected to reach the NCA in Bengaluru by the end of the weekend (January 19), and from there on, the Board of Control in Cricket in India (BCCI) will monitor the pacer under their eyes. “Bumrah is progressing well, and he is expected to reach the National Cricket Academy (NCA) this weekend in Bengaluru for more medical attention,” a source told CricBlogger.

Bumrah eager to win ICC Champions Trophy for India
The scenes at the SCG weren’t grim by any means. Although Bumrah walked off, he looked in good spirits. This was perhaps an indication of the seriousness of the injury. Earlier this week, he’d also rubbished rumours of him being put on bed rest by the BCCI.
It’s believed that Bumrah was hurt more so about the fact that he couldn’t take the field and draw the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at 2-2 than about his injury. Having played a major role in the India cricket team winning the T20 World Cup 2024, Bumrah would want to get Team India another ICC title.
“Bumrah is just fine and getting better with time. He is very eager to play the Champions Trophy and he could be included in the team on a probational basis if BCCI’s medical team clears him,” a source revealed.
One can’t also forget that many blamed Bumrah for that 2017 ICC Champions Trophy Final defeat to Pakistan, where he took the wicket of Fakhar Zaman on a no-ball and the opener went on to score a match-winning 114. Bumrah would look to exact some revenge and this time come clutch for Team India.
