ヘイズルウッドはパースではオーストラリア最高のボウラーだったが、脇腹の痛みのためアデレードではプレーできなかった。
Scott Boland‘s spot in the Australia cricket team is in danger. That’s because Josh Hazlewood, who was ruled out of the Pink Ball Test, is likely to return to the team in Brisbane. Hazlewood was a cut above Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc in Perth and was easily the best bowler after Jasprit Bumrah. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to feature in the India vs Australia 2nd Test due to an injury.
Why Hazlewood chose to skip India vs Australia 2nd Test
Hazlewood has revealed that he could have pulled through had the Adelaide Test been the last Test of the series. It would have probably injured him further, but he would have fought through pain to play. The right-arm pacer knew what he was risking, so he decided to rest and let Boland have a go.
“If this was the last Test of the summer, I could have potentially run the gauntlet and played. I think I would have been in a pretty bad state by the end of the game, even though it was only a short game but it just wasn’t quite right. I’m very well aware of the area, and how the feelings are and what sort of pain it is, and how I can get through sessions, and what that means. I guess that makes my decisions a little bit easier, and I know what I can get through and what I can’t and if I’m ready or not. That experience is positive in this regard,” Hazlewood told Yahoo Sports.

Still a question mark over Josh Hazlewood’s Brisbane availability
Earlier today, Hazlewood was tested, as the management told him to bowl in match simulations in Adelaide. He bowled two spells at full intensity but isn’t sure how his body will react and therefore needs a day to assess whether he’s ready to bowl in Brisbane.
“I think it’ll be how I pull up in the 24 hours following it really. Obviously two spells makes a big difference. Cooling down pretty much fully and then going again in the same day, and the intensity has got to be right up there as well. So a few boxes to tick, but it’s probably the 24 hours that follow and pulling up again the next day and then thinking ‘yeah, I’d be right to go again if I had to’,” he added.
