スキャナーによるロヒット・シャルマの「防御」技術が貧弱、専門家「自信がない」

Rohit Sharma‘s return has been rather poor, in the IND vs AUS second Test at Adelaide. In the first innings, he was out for 3, and now in the second innings, he was sent back to the hut for 6, leaving India reeling at 128/5. What was even worse is, he demoted himself at No.6, which was just a sign of low confidence.

Rohit Sharma’s Poor Form

IN his last few Tests, he has only averaged 10-11, and many feel, he should be ousted from the Test team. On a discussion at ESPNCricinfo, Sanjay Manjrekar just ripped him apart. He mentioned that it wasn’t just the good deliveries that he was getting…but slammed him for failing in India as well during the IND vs NZ series too.

“There is more to it because even in India, on those pitches, Matt Henry troubled him. He was saved by a review in one of the innings, but soon after, he was out. The ball goes through his defence in the very same way when he takes a small step forward with the hope that the ball will hit his bat.

Indian Skipper Underconfident

“Rohit Sharma’s defence has been better, but we have talked a lot in the last couple of years whether there has been a lot of cricket that somewhere that quality wasn’t needed. You know that defence that he had mastered three-four years back, especially when he had that great Test series in England.

“But now the way he looked when he was batting out there that his body lacks confidence. Somebody who is struggling for runs coming a few days before a Test match and having a quarter of a warm-up game is not ideal preparation. Rohit Sharma is clearly struggling with whether defence which is the most important thing you need in Test cricket is letting him down. He doesn’t have confidence in his defence, plus the preparations are thoroughly inadequate for a man who is in this current shape,” Sanjay Manjrekar said on ESPNCricinfo.
