チャンピオンズ トロフィー: PCB はトーナメントに向けてスタジアムを準備する期限を守れませんでしたが、取締役会はまだ達成する自信を持っています。
It seems that the renovation work for the Karachi Stadium has now entered the final phase, with the Champions Trophy 2025 scheduled to start from Feb 19 in Pakistan. As per a report in Geo.tv, two enclosures in the stadium will be named after Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan. The report further states that the construction of a new building, which will also have a player’s area, is going through the finishing touches, including cleaning and partitioning.
Not just that, the PCB also organised a format visit for the media, to witness the progress of the stadium. The National Stadium in Karachi will also have two VIP enclosures with a seating capacity of 1050. The General Manager of the Stadium, Arshad Khan also confirmed the same.
“The new stadium layout also aligns the Hanif Mohammad and Javed Miandad enclosures with the Far-End Building, as traditionally the VIP enclosures are next to the players area, while the enclosures adjacent to the older building will be renamed Iqbal Qasim and Naseem-ul-Ghani enclosures,” said Arshad.
The lighting facility at the stadium are almost complete. Meanwhile, Project Director Bilal Chauhan told the media, that the construction for the main building was almost finished. “The stands at the ground floor and top-floor partitions will be completed soon. By January 28, the stands will be ready for the installation of seats,” Chauhan stated.
It is important to note that India will not be visiting Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, and they will play all their matches in Dubai. IND vs PAK match will be played on Feb 23. Also, Pakistan is yet to announce their squad for the tournament, and will make the announcement, when they get a clarity on Saim Ayub’s injury.
