Australian cricket star David Warner is making his debut in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this season after not being picked by any Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. As the captain of the Karachi Kings, Warner encountered an unusual question from a Pakistani journalist during a press interaction.

The journalist inquired about Warner’s perspective on alleged hate propagated by Indians, referencing his extensive experience of playing IPL in India for over a decade. Additionally, the reporter attempted to provoke Warner by mentioning the online trolling he has reportedly been subjected to by individuals from India.

This is the first I’ve heard of it. From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There’s an opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar didn’t allow me to come to PSL due to the timings. Now, I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully we are able to win the trophy,” Warner said.

Warner also mentioned that he is featuring in the PSL because he wants to play cricket. “For my perspective, it’s about playing cricket, and it’s an opportunity for me to come to PSL. Before this, the international calendar didn’t allow me to come here due to the timings,” he also said.

To note, David Warner is not just an exceptional talent but also an IPL champion. He famously led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden title in 2016. Warner is among the league’s most prolific scorers, having accumulated an impressive 6565 runs over 184 matches, solidifying his legacy in IPL history.
