In the ongoing final of the tri-nation series, Babar Azam has achieved a massive feat. Prior to the final match in Karachi against New Zealand, there was a massive buzz about Azam getting to his 6,000-run milestone. He was just 10 runs short of the huge mark and duly got to the feat by slamming a superb drive for a four against Jacob Duffy. He has now become the joint-fastest to 6,000 runs, joining Hashim Amla in the elite list.

Babar Azam is touted to be Pakistan’s best batter of this generation by many. He is one of the most consistent players in modern-day cricket. While he is currently the world’s number 1 ranked batter in ODIs, Babar hasn’t been amongst runs in recent times. In the ongoing tri-nation series, he has made 62 runs at an average of 20.67 and at a strike rate of 81.58. Prior to that, he had a horrible Test series at home against the West Indies, making just 45 runs at 11.25.
