CuttackのBarabati Stadiumは、3年後の最初の国際試合のホストでした。
The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) wishes to upgrade the Barabati Stadium following a floodlight controversy. For the uninformed, earlier this month during the India vs. England 2nd ODI in Cuttack, a malfunction disrupted play twice for a combined thirty five minutes.
OCA’s answer for the floodlight controversy
After the floodlight issue, the Sports and Youth Services Department of the Odisha government issued OCA a show-cause notice and asked them to explain the incident in ten days. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also asked for an explanation from the Odisha board.
“We have already submitted a response to the Odisha government. OCA has decided to keep two generators for each floodlight stand,” newly elected OCA President Pankaj Lochan Mohanty said on the matter.

BCCI backs OCA to upgrade Barabati Stadium
Mohanty further added the OCA wishes to upgrade the Barabati Stadium. They have got BCCI’s backing and will look to set up academies and develop the facilities. They wish that the Odisha government, which came to power last year, also aids them in this process.
“I was the OCA president from 2019 to 2022 and was also the vice president. After the resignation of OCA president Bobby Das, nobody had filed a nomination for the post except me. Today, I have assumed charge as OCA president after the completion of the election process. Many things need to be done, including the makeover of Barabati Stadium,” Mohanty added.
“OCA has set up various academies, and BCCI is ready for the Barabati stadium development. We hope that the new government will cooperate and take it in a positive way,” he concluded.
