Cricket is a gentleman’s game, but sometimes things can go haywire. A similar incident took place in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). In the match between Khulna Tigers vs Sylhet Strikers on Sunday, Tanzim Hasan Sakib vs Mohammad Nawaz had a massive altercation after the latter was dismissed.

Both the players had an altercation followed by a war of words. Ultimately, the players and the umpires had to interfere to separate the two players. The incident took place when Khulna Tigers were chasing. Pakistani player Mohammad Nawaz had scored 33 runs by then. But a clever delivery from the Bangladeshi bowler, saw the former getting dismissed.

Players turn cricket into a brawl

It was a slower delivery that did the trick. Mohammad Nawaz didn’t anticipate the pace and the ball took a wicked deflection from his bat only for Zakir Hasan inside the circle to take a simple catch. The batter casually started walking back when his shoulder barged with the bowler.

And that was the spark that lighted the fuse. Both the players immediately started shouting at each other. Tanzim Hasan Sakib even sent off the batter showing him to the direction of the dressing room. But incidents like these in the gentleman’s game leave a particularly bad taste in the mouth. The duo was finally separated after the players and the umpires interfered.

Coming to the game, Sylhet Strikers batted first and posted a decent total of 182 runs on the board. In reply, Khulna Tigers could only manage 174 runs ensuring an 8-run win for the former side.
