The Kolkata Police have rubbished reports of KKR vs LSG tie, set to take place on April 6, to be moved from Kolkata to Guwahati. Earlier, reports had stated that the contest would have to be shifted out due to Ram Navami. However, the city’s police has brushed aside concerns of being able to provide adequate security.

No change of venue for KKR vs LSG?

Taking to social media platform X, Kolkata Police stated that they were firmly committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly had earlier confirmed that the contest, which would coincide with Ram Navami, will be shifted to Guwahati, as per RevSportz. However, the Kolkata Police seem to think otherwise.

As per the Indian Express, a CAB source claimed that the board is yet to hear from the BCCI on a request for a change in venue.

 “We haven’t got any response regarding that yet,” A CAB official said.

“The IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants on April 6 will be moved out of Kolkata and is likely to be played in Guwahati, CAB president Snehasis Ganguly has confirmed. The game was scheduled on the day of Ram Navami,” stated RevSportz.
