LourstoneはRCBの3番目のマッチのみをプレーしました。

Liam Livingstone has saved Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) from a major embarrassment at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium against the Gujarat Titans (GT). The all-rounder, who was purchased by RCB for Rs 8.75 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, has started his new chapter in the league on a splendid note.

RCB is Livingstone’s third IPL franchise. His 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Punjab Kings were great, but after a whirlwind 2024 edition, he was let go. Livingstone has been a disappointment for England as well for the last 12 months. But for RCB, he’s been nothing but great in the three matches he’s played in the IPL 2025.

Liam Livingstone saves RCB

He’s taken wickets and now scored his maiden fifty for RCB. What makes Livingstone’s innings special is the fact that his team was 35/3 when he entered the middle. They sank even deeper, losing captain Rajat Patidar for just 12. But Livingstone dug deep and, with Jitesh Sharma, saved the team.

For the majority of his innings, his strike rate wasn’t even 100. He couldn’t get his bat on ball. The all-rounder was dropped by Rahul Tewatia when he was just 9 (11). He continued despite struggling. After playing 25 balls, Livingstone had scored just 23 balls. By the end of the 15th over, Jitesh Sharma and Krunal Pandya were both dismissed. Then the all-rounder took over.

In his next 15 balls, he scored 31 runs. Tim David also exploded at the same time. RCB went on to post 169 on the board. This was after it seemed like they’d bundle under 100. If RCB went on to win, Livingstone’s maiden fifty for the franchise could be the main reason behind it.
