Abhishek Sharma is known to hit some glorious boundaries. But Bangar has claimed that Tilak has the better edge as he can also hit boundaries down the order when field restrictions are much more strict.

“I would prefer Tilak Varma. Abhishek Sharma dominates when field restrictions are in place, but Tilak can be special even in the middle order when the field is spread out. His temperament is also excellent,” Sanjay Bangar said on Star Sports Deep Point. “

Abhishek Sharma hogged the limelight recently owing to his beautiful knock of 135 runs at Wankhede in the 5th T20I. Sharma already has notched up 2 T20I tons to his name. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma has 2 tons to his name in the shortest format of the game. While the latter can fair well in down the order, he is best suited to bat at number 3.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma has already solidified his spot in the T20I squad as a strong contender for the opening spot. Though both are good fielders and are all-rounders, Tilak Varma’s ability to bat in the middle adds to his versatility and strength.
