Padmakar Shivalkarはインドのために単一のゲームをプレイしていません
India’s domestic left-arm spinner Padmakar Shivalkar passed away on 4th March. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has expressed their mourning upon the domestic great after passing away. The 84-year-old veteran has been one of the few stars who haven’t played a game for his country.
Padmakar Shivalkar has been a force to reckon with in the domestic circuit, especially the Ranji Trophy. He had 124 first-class caps to his name where he managed to scale 589 wickets. Arguably he was one of the finest spinners that the country has produced.

End of an Era
His heroics in the Ranji Trophy are second to none. His most memorable outing came in the 1972-73 finals against Tamil Nadu. He bagged 8 from 16 and then 5 for 18 in the finals as Bombay went on to clinch a dominating win over their opponents.
While he has never represented India in international cricket, he has been a contemporary of the legend Bishan Singh Bedi. Back in 2017, the BCCI recognized his contribution to cricket and awarded him the C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Indian cricket has lost a true legend today. Padmakar Shivalkar’s mastery over left-arm spin and his deep understanding of the game made him a revered figure in domestic cricket. His exceptional career and selfless contribution to Mumbai and Indian Cricket will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Roger Binny said.
“Shivalkar Sir was an inspiration to generations of cricketers. His consistency, skill, and longevity in the game were truly remarkable. While he may not have played for India, his impact on Indian cricket, especially in Mumbai, is undeniable. His achievements speak volumes about his exceptional abilities. Indian cricket has lost one of its most dignified servants. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and well-wishers,” said BCCI seceratry Devajit Saikia.
