Is it shocking that an Indian Premier League (IPL) match is being played in Delhi and a fight erupts? Not at all. Some might go as far as saying this is just a Delhi thing. Well, fight was in the air. And Jasprit Bumrah and Karun Nair really got into it at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

In the Delhi Capitals (DC) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) match, Bumrah wasn’t having the best of days, with 29 runs being taken off him in his first two overs. And most of the damage was done by Nair. Which included an 18-run second over.
On the last ball of Bumrah’s second over, Nair was looking to complete his fifty. He run hard for a double and collided with the fast bowler on the way back. Bumrah wasn’t amused. He had his back turned away when Nair collided with him.
The batter didn’t want to get into it, as to him it was a clear mistake and intentional. But the pacer wasn’t happy. He came towards the batter as the strategic timeout was taken and spoke his mind. Nair didn’t want to engage, it seemed, but Bumrah wanted to say what was on his mind.
It seemed like Hardik Pandya said something as well. But in the best form of his life, Nair forgot it ball. He continued his merry way. His fifty had come off just 22 balls. And one mustn’t forget, this was his first IPL match since 2022. Nair didn’t want to waste this opportunity.
In the end, Karun Nair missed out on his maiden IPL hundred by just 11 runs. His 89-run knock came from just 40 balls. It didn’t mean that DC had won the match, but Nair had done his job. Now, it was on the others to finish what he started.
