ICCチャンピオンズトロフィーは2月5日の開幕戦でパキスタンとニュージーランドが対戦することで始まる。
Less than a month remains for the ICC Champions Trophy and Pakistan are yet to complete the constructions and renovations of their stadiums. As per reports, 2 weeks prior to the start of the tournament, the Karachi and Lahore stadiums will be handed over to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Who when then in turn hand over the stadiums to the ICC to conduct the tournament.
Reports claim that the Lahore and the Karachi Stadiums will be handed over to PCB on 5th February. Furthermore, the stadiums will be tested our before the start of the tournament with the tri-series taking place between Paksitan, New Zealand and South Africa.
Stadiums to be handed over PCB on 5th Feb
Initially, the constructions in the stadium were set to be concluded by 31st December. With the renovations not being completed, an extended time was asked. And now the renovations are set to be completed by 5th February. The General Manager of Karachi Stadium Arshad Khan claimed that the work will be completed by the end of this month. And PCB would get time to try an test out the renovations once they are handed over the stadiums.
The name is case with the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Reports claim that the PCB is spending 12 Billion Pakistani Rupees for the degradation of these two stadiums along with the Rawalpindi Stadium. There has also been degradation in the seating capacities and better seats. For the fans, better folding chairs are now being incorporated.
Other improved amenities include new washrooms and two digital scoreboards along with the installation of fresh LED floodlights at the stadiums. The tournament kick starts with Paksitan playing against New Zealand on 19th February at Karachi.
