インドは 2 日目終了時点で 128/5 と低迷している。訪問国はまだオーストラリアを 29 ラン差で追いかけている。
It was Australia who once again dominated proceedings on Day 2 of the IND vs AUS Pink Ball Test in Adelaide. India’s arch nemesis Travis Head once troubled the visitors for a stunning knock. The southpaw slammed a brilliant 140-run knock while helping the hosts take a big lead in the game. As was evident in the first innings, the Indian batting order again collapsed due to pressure.
Arch nemesis – Travis Head again Haunts India
No one has forgotten the ODI World Cup Final in 2023. Travis Head single-handedly slammed a magnificent ton to seal the game away from India’s hands. And the southpaw was once again back to his full fight in Adelaide. He didn’t give India an inch of breathing space as he went on to punish the Indian bowling lineup.
Head smashed 17 fours and 4 sixes to reach his 140-run knock from just 141 deliveries. Eventually, with his mega knock, the Aussies were able to take a big lead in the game. Australia was bowled out for 337 and that proved to be a big concern for the visitors.
The hometown hero slammed his 8th Test ton of his career. Interestingly, it was his 7th Test ton on home soil and his second red-ball century against India.
India’s top order crumbles yet again
After the debacle of the first innings, hopes were high that India’s batting order wouldn’t crumble. But alas, that isn’t the case to be. Pat Cummins, Scot Boland, and Mitchell Starc continued to showcase their brilliance in the backdrop of the night Adelaide sky.
The visitors needed some solid knocks from the top-order batters to better the trail and go on to pile up a massive total on the board. But that wasn’t the case to be. KL Rahul was the first batter to be dismissed on 7 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to show his aggressive approach, but he too was sent packing after scoring 24 runs.
The ace batters of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli again faltered. The Indian captain registered yet another single-digit score while Kohli could only manage to score 11 runs. Shubman Gill (28) looked in good touch but he too was sent packing after a brilliant delivery from Mitchell Starc.
At the end of play on Day 2 India is left stranded on 128/5. The visitors still trail by 29 runs.
