DC vs RR: What happened in the 20th over?
Sandeep Sharma was one of the difference makers for Rajasthan Royals after they decided to bowl first against Delhi Capitals in Delhi on Wednesday. The veteran pacer kept things tight in the powerplay, conceding just 7 runs in his two overs. He returned to bowl the 18th over, conceding just 7 runs again, putting the breaks on Delhi Capitals’ scoring. However, it was the final over when Sharma’s lines and lengths went missing.
Sandeep started with a wide, before Tristan Stubbs played a dot. He then followed it up with a slower bouncer, only for it to be above the batsman’s reach and be called a wide. The RR pacer tried to course correct, aiming for the pads, but missed and conceded another wide down the legside. Sandeep then went searching for the wide yorker, only to wided again to make it 4 in the final over.
The next ball, Sharma nailed the low full toss, only for him to have overstepped. The free-hit was smashed to the boundary by Stubbs, which was followed by a maximum. The final ball of the over only yielded a single, with Maheesh Theekshana dropping a sitter.
