The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was criticized after a massive security breach in the ICC Champions Trophy. In the New Zealand vs Bangladesh clash. The invader was arrested and presented in court. This was Pakistan hosting a global tournament for the very first time after 29 years. And after this security breach, the PCB claimed that they are now tightening security further so that an event like this doesn’t take place any more. The PCB further went on to release a statement on the issue.

PCB vows to increase more security
“The PCB has taken serious note of the security breach that occurred yesterday when a spectator entered the field of play. Ensuring the safety of players and officials remains our top priority. As a responsible organisation, we have engaged with local security agencies, who have committed to increasing security personnel around the field of play at all venues and strengthening access control measures,” PCB said in a statement.
“The individual involved was arrested and presented before a court of law today (Tuesday). In addition, he has been permanently banned from entering all cricket venues in Pakistan,” the statement read.

Rachin Ravindra had previously suffered a major head injury while playing the tri-series in Pakistan. The southpaw was not at all happy when the invader came and hugged him as the young Kiwi was on the crease. The PCB said that they are now working closely with authorities to reinforce further security protocols.
“To prevent such incidents in the future, the PCB is working closely with security agencies and venue authorities to review and reinforce security protocols,” PCB said.
