In what comes as a great news for Team India, star batter Virat Kohli has moved up significantly in the latest ICC rankings after his stunning ton vs Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. The 36-year-old has now become the 5th best ODI batter in the world as per the latest rankings.
Virat Kohli Rises in ICC ODI Rankings
In the India vs Pakistan fixture of Feb 23, Virat Kohli had gone on to score his 51st ODI century in Dubai. That also means, the ODI batters list is dominated by the Indians, and occupy three spots in the top 5. India vice-captain Shubman Gill continues to be at No. 1 position, while Rohit Sharma is at No. 3.
Babar Azam Behind Shubman Gill
Despite the lean patch, Babar Azam in the second position, 47 points behind Shubman Gill. On the other hand, New Zealand’s Will Young moved up eight spots to be at the 14th position now, while England’s Ben Duckett is at 17th, up by 27 spots. Rachin Ravindra also moved up 18 spots with his ton to 24th position.
As far as the best bowlers is concerned, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana secures the top spot, while Rashid Khan is at the second for now. South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj is up by a spot and has moved up to 4th. The best-placed Indian bowler in the list happens to be Kuldeep Yadav, at No. 3. Mohammed Shami rose a spot to no. 14, who had bagged a fifer in the match against Bangladesh.
