Former Women’s Premier League champions Mumbai Indians have retained 14 players and have released four, including one overseas star, ahead of WPL 2025 auction. The mini-auction will take place in Bengaluru on December 15 and will see 120 players go under the hammer. Led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, MI’s squad ahead of WPL 2025 mini-auction boasts of the likes of Pooja Vastrakar, Sajana Sajeevan, Yastika Bhatia among the names who are regular in India Women’s team.

Mumbai Indians finished second on the standings in WPL 2024, with five wins from eight matches. Harmanpreet Kaur and co. were knocked out of the tournament after suffering a five-run loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the WPL 2024 Playoffs.

Mumbai Indians were crowned the champions of inaugural WPL in 2023. Harmanpreet Kaur and co. defeated Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in the final to lift the title. The side had secured 6 victories from 8 matches in the league stage and had finished second on the points table. They made their way to the finals after defeating UP Warriorz by a mammoth 72-run margin.

MI bowler Hayley Matthews was the Purple Cap winner for the season, having bagged 16 wickets in the season. Issy Wong had even gone on to take a hat-trick in WPL 2024.
