Smriti Mandhanaは、女性のT20マッチで8000以上のレースを獲得した唯一の他のインドの打者です。
Mumbai Indians (MI) Women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur continues to create history. The Indian stalwart was in the flow against the Delhi Capitals (DC) Women at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara in the opening Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 match for both teams.
Harmanpreet Kaur joins Smriti Mandhana’s elite company
Batting alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt in the first innings after losing the toss, the MI captain went berserk. In the 11th over of the MI vs. DC match, Harmanpreet smashes Annabel Sutherland for four consecutive boundaries. Unfortunately, she fell eight runs short of her half-century, but those blistering strokes were enough for her to become just the second Indian batter to score 8,000 runs in women’s T20 matches.

Harmanpreet Kaur says, I’ve still got it
For a little while now, questions over Harmanpreet’s form have been asked. Her record over the last couple of years in white-ball cricket wasn’t good, but in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, the veteran batter showed she’s still got it. The MI captain is one of the five players to score over 500 runs in WPL. That too at a strike rate of over 140. She’s past her prime, but that doesn’t mean that she’s no longer one of the best in the business.
She played a major role in MI becoming the inaugural champions of the WPL in 2023. If Mumbai wants to lift a second title, Harmanpreet will have to play a big role once again. That’s why this 42 (22) innings bodes well for her and MI’s WPL 2025 title-run chances.
