Kohli was looking in great touch. Playing in his milestone game, the star batter entered the middle with good intent. Usually seen as a slow starter, Kohli was 11 (13). He’d gotten lucky on the previous ball (6.3 over) when the ball from Matt Henry took his edge and flowed over Phillips.
Henry bowled the next ball outside off, and Kohli cut it hard. A boundary was written. But Phillips decided to intervene. He threw himself at the ball and stunned the world crowd, his teammates, and Kohli himself. The batter stood there with a stunned face and couldn’t believe what had happened.
