Virat Kohli made history on Tuesday (March 4) by becoming India’s all-time leading run-scorer in Champions Trophy history. During the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final against Australia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Kohli needed just 40 runs to surpass the previous record.
The 36-year-old right-hander has accumulated 702* runs in 16 innings across four editions of the tournament. To claim the top spot, he had to surpass Shikhar Dhawan’s tally of 701 runs. Dhawan, who played 10 Champions Trophy matches across two editions, amassed his runs with three centuries and three fifties.
