Mushfiqur Rahimの場合、バングラデシュのこの伝説的なWicktkeeper BaterがODIに別れを告げるので、すべてが50オーバー形式で行われています。
We have often seen in the past that after major tournaments, many retirements take place, and the trend continues. Following Australia’s Steve Smith, who was a key batter for his country in 50-over cricket and recently bid farewell to the format, another veteran, Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim, has now announced his retirement from ODIs.
The veteran Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter shared his decision through his official Facebook and Instagram accounts. For him, T20Is were already a thing of the past, having said goodbye to the shorter format in 2022. Now, his sole focus will be on Test cricket.
Bangladesh’s most-capped ODI player!
Adding to this, he is Bangladesh’s most-capped ODI player with 274 matches and the second-highest run-scorer behind Tamim Iqbal. There is no doubt that filling his boots will be a challenge for any new player.
Having debuted in 2006 against Zimbabwe, he made his final appearance against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 group-stage game. This superstar emerged as a key player, which is why he featured in five 50-over World Cups and captained Bangladesh across formats, earning recognition as the country’s finest wicketkeeper-batter.
