Rohit Sharma and the Mumbai Indians are, rightly, a match made in heaven—a story filled with countless happy moments and unwavering loyalty. Sharma has been with MI for the past 14 seasons and is now set for his 15th. It was during the 2011 auction when the Mumbai Indians acquired him for INR 9.2 crore, and since then, it has been all good for him. Rohit is the only player to have appeared in as many as 14 different seasons for MI and is poised to play for the team for the 15th consecutive season.

Before joining MI, Rohit had already won an IPL title with the now defunct Deccan Chargers. However, when he moved to Mumbai, his consistency improved significantly. Slowly but steadily, he became a permanent fixture in the team.

When he took over the captaincy midway through the 2013 season, he led MI to their first IPL trophy. From that point onward, MI’s dominance became the defining story of the IPL under his leadership, lasting until 2023.

In total, Rohit delivered an impressive five IPL trophies for the team. To celebrate all his success, the Mumbai Indians shared a special video on X to mark the milestone.

And it’s not just his leadership, with his batting as well, Rohit Sharma has excelled. As mentioned, he has made tons of runs, achieved consistency, and scored over 5,458 runs while playing in this jersey.

Although, around the last edition, some controversy came, particularly when Hardik Pandya was handed the captaincy. It came to light that Sharma was reportedly unhappy with the decision and was rumoured to be leaving the camp. However, those reports turned out to be false, as we are set to see him once again in IPL 2025 for the Mumbai Indians.
