The suspense around India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad continues, with BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla confirming that the team will be finalised by January 18 or 19. The delay comes despite the ICC’s January 12 deadline for submitting a provisional squad, with BCCI seeking an extension to ensure the best possible selection. The BCCI reasoned that they needed some time after a hectic Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
The tournament, returning after eight years, will be played in a hybrid model. India’s matches are scheduled in Dubai, starting with their opening clash against Bangladesh on February 20. Meanwhile, host Pakistan will face New Zealand in Karachi on February 19.
