ロヒット・シャルマはランジ・トロフィーでムンバイ代表として初めて先発投手を務めたが、わずか3点しか得点できず大失敗した。
Rohit Sharma’s bad form has just reached the next level. After a poor IND vs NZ series, and then the IND vs AUS series, where he only averaged 6, now he has failed in the Ranji Trophy too. After making a comeback in the tournament after a gap of 10 years, Rohit was removed for just three in 19 deliveries, by rookie pacer Umar Nazir.
Rohit Sharma Continues his Flop Show
Once again, it was a similar problem for the batter, where he tried to play a half-hearted pull on a rising delivery, and edged it, to be caught. In short, the Indian skipper was embarrassed by a bowler, who was just playing his third match in the Ranji season. In fact, the bowler looked so confident, that he did not even celebrate the wicket of the star batter.
After the match, Umar Nazir told the Indian Express, “I am big fan of Rohit Sharma and that is why I didn’t celebrate after taking his wicket today.” As far as the match is concerned, Mumbai had a poor start to the match, where they were only bundled out for 120. Only Shardul Thakur managed to score 51, who took them beyond 100, and were reeling at 49/7 at one stage.

Meanwhile, Umar and Yudhvir Singh bagged four wickets each in the innings. Thereafter, Shubham Khajuria gave a rousing start to the visitors, scoring 53 from 75. That meant J&K took the first innings lead, and were 174/7 at the end of the first day. After a mini-collapse, Abid Mushtaq scored a quickfire 44 for the team, and ensured a 54-run lead for his team. Mohit Avasthi was the best bowler for Mumbai, picking 3/34 for the team.
