Five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek has accepted a one-month suspension after she tested positive for a banned substance. The tennis ace had tested positive for a heart medicine called trimetazidine or TMZ. She failed an out of competition drug test in August.

Earlier, the ITIA accepted Iga Swiatek’s explanation for testing positive for the banned substance. She claimed that the result of the test was unintentional and was caused by the contamination of a nonprescription medication, melatonin which took to deal with jet lag and sleeping. It was determined her level of fault was “at the lowest end of the range for no significant fault or negligence,” the IATA said.
