Fortnite Ballistic’s v33.30 update arrives on January 31, 2025, introducing the Drum Gun and significant balance changes. This update continues the early access development, with more weapons, Flex Gadgets, and maps planned for the future.

Fortnite Ballistic Update: Balance Changes

The Drum Gun, ideal for close-to-mid-range combat, boasts high damage output and a large magazine. Its strength lies in suppressing fire and controlling tight spaces. While sustained fire increases recoil, controlled bursts improve accuracy. The Drum Gun is available in the Buy Menu for 3500 Credits.

Weapon balance changes affect the Hammer Pump Shotgun, Frenzy Auto Shotgun, and Reaper Sniper Rifle. The Hammer Pump Shotgun sees increased point-blank and mid-range damage, slightly reduced long-range damage, and a lower headshot multiplier. The Frenzy Auto Shotgun receives slight damage increases at point-blank and mid-range, and slightly reduced long-range damage. The Reaper Sniper Rifle’s first shot accuracy recovery time is reduced, and its magazine size increases to five.

Economy adjustments include a reduced Rift Point Device plant bonus (from 500 to 200 Credits), an increased Hyper SMG cost (from 1500 to 1800 Credits), and reduced costs for the Frenzy Auto Shotgun (from 1600 to 1500 Credits) and Reaper Sniper Rifle (from 5000 to 4700 Credits).

Further improvements include preventing manual dropping of Smoke Grenades or Flashbangs during the buy phase, and disabling the use of Flex Gadgets, Smoke Grenades, and Flashbangs during the buy phase. The pre-match “waiting for players” screen now displays the number of players needed to start the match.
