Ace pacer Mohammad Amir, who played a major role in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy triumph in 2017, has decided to retire from international cricket ‘once again,’ just after his colleague, all-rounder Imad Wasim, announced his retirement yesterday. Now, the pacer has followed suit. If we look at both players, they have both come out of retirement. Amir, who first retired from international cricket in 2020 at the age of 28, took back his retirement on 24 March 2024 and made himself available for the Pakistan cricket team.

This shows how, sometimes, things happen a little differently in Pakistan cricket. Once a team that showed dominance on the international stage, Pakistan now faces internal conflicts that unfortunately come to light quickly and disturb the team. This has been happening for many years, and it seems that conflicts have found a permanent space in Pakistan cricket.

Mohammad Amir retirement

Amir took to Twitter and announced his retirement. As mentioned, he came out of retirement, and his last outing was in the T20 World Cup 2024, which did not end well for Pakistan. The 32-year-old made his international debut in June 2009 and played 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 62 T20Is for Pakistan.
