Team India is set to take on New Zealand in both sides last group stage match of the Champions Trophy. As stated above, the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match between India and New Zealand took place on October 31, 2021, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This match was a crucial encounter in the Super 12 stage of the tournament.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first. India’s batting lineup struggled against the disciplined Kiwi bowlers. Trent Boult and Ish Sodhi were particularly effective, with Boult taking 3 wickets for 20 runs and Sodhi claiming 2 wickets for 17 runs. India’s top order failed to build momentum, and they managed to score only 110/7 in their 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer for India with an unbeaten 26 runs.

In response, New Zealand chased down the target comfortably. Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson provided a solid start, and despite losing a couple of wickets, the Kiwis reached the target in just 14.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Mitchell scored 49 runs, while Williamson remained unbeaten on 33. Ish Sodhi was named the Player of the Match for his excellent bowling performance.

New Zealand’s victory by 8 wickets was a significant blow to India’s hopes in the tournament, as it left them with a challenging path to qualify for the semifinals.
